Hi folks, Venice is waiting! I will be there for the most famous costume festival Carnevale di Venezia. I would like to experience this carnival with his masks, animal battles, Herculean games and fireworks. I will post my Blog about this great event afterwards.
The carnival begins on February 16, 2019 and lasts until March 5, 2019. On Sunday, February 24, 2019, between 11:00 and 12:00, the traditional “angel flight” takes place over St. Mark’s Square. Angelo flies or floats from the St. Mark’s Tower to the Doge’s Palace

WHERE SHOULD YOU STAY?
To stay in a hotel in Venice are very expensive! Sometimes you can find a deal when you book on time. On the right site, you will find a “Deal Finder” from booking.com where I always book. Look through these, maybe you’re lucky. Otherwise, I recommend you to search for accommodation outside of Venice. Lido di Jesolo, Caorle & Lignano are beautiful places and this time of the year it is very quiet.

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN
So I am a railway lover. Arrival in Venice directly in the city of Venice (Railway station Venezia Santa Lucia).
ARRIVAL BY CAR
If you arrive by car, I recommend that you leave your car in Mestre, the suburb of Venice and take the bus to Venice. This will take no longer than 10 minutes and is quite simple.
€ 4.50 parking for the whole day! Not bad! Tickets for the bus ride to Venice are sold directly at the car park, 3 € per person roundtrip. Great thing! Green Park, just drive in and pull a ticket. By the way the parking lot is guarded!
Alternative if you have a few euros too much is the car park “Autorimessa Comunale” that is a few meters away from Piazzale Roma, next to the Old Town. The price for 24 hours is € 29.00. Interesting is the evening price from 17:00 to 24:00, costs only € 15,00. The driveway of the 5-story parking garage is an adventure. But at the top, you have a great view of Venice. This will be the starting point for your activities. At the Piazzale Roma, there are another two parking garages which a pretty expensive. The hour costs € 7.00
An alternative, parking in the cruise port
How do you get there: at the end of the long bridge you drive right down to the cruise terminal. At the roundabout, turn right and cross the bridge. You can’t miss it. There you park for € 21,00- € 23,00 for the whole day. From there, you take the People Mover, where you get from the Tronchetto to Piazzale Roma. The trip cost € 1,50 per ride/adult. If you want to save the money just walk about 10 minutes to the bridge “Ponte della Costituzione” which leads directly to the train station.
Tip: From the bridge, you have a great view and get the first impression from beautiful Venice.
How do I get around Venice?
In Venice, you are travelling by Vaporetto. That’s where you go everywhere. The day ticket costs € 20,00 per person. Is very expensive, if you are travelling with your family or partner. I recommend buying a ticket from GetYourGuide for € 10,50 so you can drive around 75 minutes anywhere. Your way back I recommend walking back in the Old Town. It is just beautiful to see all these sights. Do not forget, you will need good shoes!
Here are some suggestions on how to spend the day cheaply and see all the sights at the same time.
